Coolest Rapper In Hip-Hop

The Coolest Rapper In Hip-Hop

Now listen, before you pass judgment based on this picture you really should allow this guy the time of day.

Even though I maybe a West Coast, I don’t really get excited about rappers from Cali, however, Murs is rapper that you need to get very familiar with. Now I will admit when I first heard this dude on THIS TRACK, I was not impressed at all, but then He dropped “LA” and I started to pay attention to his lyrics and realized that Murs is a hidden gem in Hip-Hop.

LA known for its gangbang culture, but Murs is so far from that. It’s simply dope rhymes that will sometimes take you aback. He has been in the game since 97 and he is just getting the proper exposure. EVERYONE including myself has slept on this dude. He is charismatic, personable, and just cool. He is everything right in Hip-Hop.

You want to know what’s so sad…. BET doesn’t play his music, MTV does.

So please take this from me. On September 30th please go and pick up this album

He is the coolest thing in Hip-Hop right now, and you need to support this man.

Please check out a few of his joints.

FIGHT THE VOICE-BOX BOYCOTT

Poor Roger Troutman....he has to be a liitle upset and annoyned by what is taking place in the music industry. What use to be creative a tool, and a beautiful compliment to some of the dopest hip-hop records, how now become one of the worst things to happen in all of music. Roger Troutman provided classic with "Computer Love" and "I wanna Be Your Man", he was authentic in his approach and he was the only one using vocoder or talkbox at the time (with the exception of Teddy Riely) in the mid 90's, but Roger Troutman wasn't afraid to be seen visuality using the tool.

But here comes T-Pain with "I'm In Love With A Stripper" and the beginning of this cycle. T-Pain suddenly became a star with no talent at all. The difference between the two is that Roger man dope music. T-Pain music is catchy however, many of his records sound the same. I'm not sure if Pain wants to be a rapper of a singer.

And it doesn't end there...Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Puff all of them have caught on to this new trend. Its getting to the point where its just played out already. So from this point on. I AM GOING TO BOYCOTT THE VOICE-BOX! and If you are a true Hip-Hop fan then I hope you will do the same!

Classic Joint

Man, if this came on at a party I would probably go crazy. I love this joint, and since its Friday I think I might help kick off your weekend.

OVER-RATED

Okay....I'm thinking about doing this post for a while now...but I just haven't gotten a chance to get to it....but I think there are a few rappers in the game that are overrated. Now some of these artist on this are some of today's biggest act in the game...but for the life of me I don't understand why because they are not that nice.

1) Young Jeezy-Every since he first came out...I was highly skeptical of his skills. Jeezy is catchy but as far as lyrical skills-they don't exist. Example...

"Inside fish-sticks/Outside tarter sauce/" (I Put On)

or

"Its like my old job/but a little different/I use to work at Church's Chicken/" (Boyz N The Hood)

I don't care what you say he is not that nice.

2)TI-I don't care what you say...he is just okay. He had 2 dope albums to me. "Trap Musik" and "The King" everything else has just been sub par. I don't want to sound like a hater because I am TI fan, however, I think he needs to expand his subject matter. After a while I get tired of hearing dope boy this...dope boy that.
Again I like TI but when I compose my list of the ten rapper in the game...he is not one of them...but media treats him like he is the great...he is not.

3)Pappose-So much hype- no album or nothing. He can spit with the best of them on a lyrical level, but he hasn't put together a song yet. Hell of a talent but he needs some type of coaching...and hanging around Kay Slay and beefing with Fat Joe is not the way to go. Speaking of Fat Joe

4)Fat Joe-Oh my goodness. You want to talk about an artist being overrated...he really should be number one on this list. Fat Joe is horrible but for some reason he thinks he is the baddest man in Hip-Hop. I really can't tell you the last time I heard I dope Fat Joe record. Maybe it was "Don Cartagena" and that was '98. Not enough skills to be consider that good.

5)The Game-I struggled with putting him on this list, because I like the Game. He has done a lot for the west coast and as a west coast native I can appreciate that. However, his flow is lazy and he talks about the same stuff over and over again. 64 this....Dr. Dre that....How many times is he going to make reference about another artist in his records. When The Game puts his mind to it (Old English) he is one of the best, but he doesn't do it that often. For so much hype about him and his album, I never really get the real Game..instead I get reminders of other rappers.
